About Timothy

Timothy Gilliam is an experienced political operative that has a breadth of knowledge in Kentucky politics. 

From 2008 through 2012, Timothy worked on a variety of political campaigns across Kentucky. This included stints with Congresswoman Anne Northup, Congressman Brett Guthrie, and the Republican Party of Kentucky. 

In 2014, Timothy helped launch the Kentucky chapter for Americans for Prosperity (AFP), the grassroots policy arm of the Koch Network. He served in several different roles during his time at AFP including as Deputy State Director. Timothy played a key role in building grassroots support for AFP's legislative initiatives in the Kentucky General Assembly. 

In 2018, Timothy joined Senator Mitch McConnell's official staff, serving as his field representative for south-central Kentucky and parts of western Kentucky. During his time with Senator McConnell he worked closely with elected officials, community leaders, and constituents, helping them navigate federal issues. 

In 2023, Timothy started Gilliam Consulting, a government relations firm with a focus on serving entities in south-central and western Kentucky.  

Timothy is entrenched in Republican Party politics serving as Chairman for the Warren County Republican Party and the Second District Republican Committee. He is also a member of the Republican Party of Kentucky’s Executive Committee. 

Timothy is a proud graduate of Western Kentucky University and resides in Bowling Green with his wife Alexa and two daughters, Sutton and Reese.
